Getting Ready for Christmas

Christmas 2012!
Devin and I left (almost) all our Christmas decorations at home so we set out to make our own homemade ornaments to decorate our tree this year.

We got our tree at Home Depot; because we left our tree stand at home, we made things work with a five gallon bucket filled with rocks (it only tipped over once while we were setting it up)!

We started by stringing popcorn and scavenging for pine cones on the ground outside of our apartment. We cooked the bugs out of the cones and added ribbon for a more festive feel!

More Ornaments!

Salt added to pine cones and bulbs made a nice snowy effect.

My favorite project was our angel!  It started out as an empty toilet paper roll but with a whole lot of ribbon and a little bit of lace and love it turned out to be quite pretty!

The finished project! It looks so much better in person than in the picture but I still really like it!  It was a lot of fun to put together and makes our apartment feel very festive!

Nursery

We have had a lot of fun decorating our Baby Boy's Room!

My Grandma   (Lincoln's Great Grandma) Merrill made the beautiful wall hanging.  The little rocking chair was Devin's Great Grandpa's (Lincoln's great- great-Grandpa) Kenney's. He brought it home  from his mission.  I love all the history  and love these items represent.

 Some more fun pictures!

Halloween Fun!

Devin and I had a Halloween cookie contest to see who could make the best Halloween scene with sugar cookie dough! I opted for a skeleton while Devin went with a haunted house scene. It was a a lot of fun and yummy to eat too!

Devin's Haunted House complete with ghosts
gnarled fence posts and trees!
My Skeleton! Notice the Baby Skeleton
in the stomach.

Needless to say I definitely pulled out the victory!

My Birthday!

I had an awesome Birthday! Devin made me Chinese Stir Fry and I was spoiled with all kinds of gifts both from Devin and family back home! Thank you Everyone!
One of the best parts of the day was that Devin took the night off from studying and we were able to spend the whole evening together!

Crafts

I've had a lot of time since moving here to Michigan and have kept myself busy scrapbooking and making all kinds of craft things. Most of them for the baby!
These are picture frames that are going to hang in Baby's Room!

We got this while we were in Holland we thought
it'd be a good memory the little guy could have. We
will add his name and year on the side.

I put the Ultrasound picture in this one!

A Mobile and a cute saying from Winnie the Pooh just for fun!

Here are a few more randrom crafts I've worked on or finished!
